Kyle Sampson
Kyle R. Sampson is a former prosecutor in the United States Marine Corps and Special Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of California, for which he was awarded the Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal. Since leaving active duty as a Marine Corps prosecutor in 2000, after trying major cases such as rape, drug importation, and counterfeiting, Mr. Sampson has devoted his practice to defending citizens accused of crimes in state, federal, and military courts.
Upon graduation from Texas A&M University in 1992, Mr. Sampson was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. He then attended and graduated from the Texas Tech School of Law in Lubbock, Texas. Mr. Sampson is admitted to practice in Texas, as well as the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Ninth Circuits, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Northern Districts of Texas, and all United States courts-martial.
Mr. Sampson represents clients at trial and on appeal in state, federal, and military courts, as well as before professional licensing boards. He also represents individuals and corporate clients as witnesses, suspects, or targets in grand jury investigations. He is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Harris County Criminal Lawyers Association; and is a member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association; and the Harris County Criminal Lawyers Association.
Mr. Sampson is Board Certified in Criminal Law by both the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He has been recognized as either a Rising Star or as a Super Lawyer by Thomson Reuters every year since 2004. He has successfully tried cases to verdict in state, federal, and military courts across the United States and in Iraq.
Mr. Sampson is married and has three children.
